Crazies

I was reading up on the HPV vaccine since its there have been tons of ads on TV and I wanted to know a bit more about it. While doing that I learned that many states have been denying bills that make the vaccine mandatory for girls in middle school and parents have the option of opting out because of religious or medical reasons.

The apparent religious reason is that it'll make girls more promiscuous and send the message that its okay to have sex. WHAT?! Seriously? Its a prevantative vaccination, are you saying you're raising a child that would get that idea from a shot? If so, I'm judging your parenting skills. It's like saying, no I'm not going to give my child a tetnus shot becuase then they'll think its okay to go stab themselves with a rusty nail.

Hopeless Romantics Remain Just So

Since I have this unhealthy obsession with my name and romance, I wikipedia'd the story of Laila Majnu (Layla in wikiworld) and even though I knew it ended in a very tragic way I was still a little distraught after reading about it. Though I tink things work out okay for Laila, she gets married to some other bloke and lives an unintersting, apathetic exsistence.

I then found this. And now I'm just depressed. Not a single one of those stories ends happily. They're all morbid and heart-wrenching.

"If talking about Valentines, it is imperative to know about few people who have made this day special by celebrating love in their lives"

Celebrate the fact that falling in love led to each and everyone dying a premature death? Not a single one made it to their wedding night.

I love love. It gives me butterflies when I hear another's story of how they met and fell in love with their significant other. Especially the fake, silver screen kind. So obviously I can't wait for the real deal. But if I'm as lucky as these famous couples, he'll end up going crazy and writing a poem about me before jumping off a tower after drinking poision on our wedding day!
A love story for the ages indeed!
